Roblox has over 40 million games for its players to choose from. The sandbox game also allows its players to develop their own games. The players can then make these games available for other users on Roblox. With so many games, you could be curious about what the first game ever was on Roblox.
Well, to be direct the first game on Roblox was called Rocket Arena. It is an original Roblox game designed by the creators themselves. Rocket Arena was released in 2006 when Roblox was still under beta testing.
What is Rocket Arena?
The game was a free-for-all fighting game where players had to battle each other in a giant arena. It was a 3v3 multiplayer game where Players had to out-maneuver the opponents using jet boots and shoot each other with a rocket launcher. The main weapon of players, the rocket launcher, gave the game its name.
Each player got three items in their inventory in the game that they could use to push the other player out of the arena. The players could destroy other players with rocket launchers to score points. Players would respawn to a new location and continue trying to blast each other.
They had the ability to blow up bridges where players were standing to drop them out of the arena.
The game was later renamed to Classic: Rocket Arena. Rocket Arena helped Roblox creators to test several Roblox features. The game was helpful in designing a majority of game creation options in the Roblox studio. Furthermore, the game inspired the creation of many other video games as well.
Is Rocket Arena Still Available on Roblox?
Sadly it isn’t. Roblox removed Classic: Rocket Arena officially in 2017. The game broke after an update in 2015. The major highlight of the game, the jet boots that players used to fly around the arena started to malfunction. Other tools in the game stopped responding to commands as well. Thus the game became unplayable.
There are other user created versions of the game but the official Classic: Rocket Arena isn’t available on Roblox right now.
