You can get the Overclocked Pulse Rifle as a reward for claiming the Loot Island’s Capture Point. In Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, the Loot Island is the floating area that spawns at a random location at the later stages of a match.
If you want an Overclocked Pulse Rifle for yourself, follow the guide and watch the video at the end.
Where to Find Loot Island?
Loot Island is a floating island that spawns randomly on the map but mainly around the center.
In Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, the island appears at the 4th storm cycle. By that point, there will typically be around 15 to 20 players remaining. Anyhow, you’ll hear a noticeable sound and see it appear in the sky on a blue rift.
The location also creates a new marker on the map, which looks like this:
The island will also create a blue marker on your map, which you can follow. Sometimes, the island will be a kilometer from your position, and you may need a vehicle to reach it in time.
The island will be at one of the edges of the storm circle, and you’ll have a few minutes to reach it, explore it, and loot it. It can even spawn outside the circle, which gives you less time until the storm catches you.
To reach the island, you must approach it and interact with the zip lines or a rift. If you use the rift, you will teleport to the sky and then skydive toward the island (or anywhere else, if you please).
The island has a Vault you can open with two keys on its wooden corridors. It also has a Capture Point, various treasure chests, and other items to loot.
But you’re looking for the Overclocked Pulse Rifle. You can get the weapon by claiming the Capture Point in Loot Island.
Claim the Loot Island Capture Point
There’s a Capture Point on every named location in Fortnite except for Megacity. We’ve counter 11 of those, but the one we care about today is in Loot Island.
To Claim a Capture Point in Loot Island, you must go to the white circle in front of the house’s wooden stairs. There’s a make-shift flag at the center of the circle.
Staying within the circle will raise the flag slowly. You must stay in the area and survive for about one minute to claim it.
As a reward, you get the Overclocked Pulse Rifle, random loot, and XP. You also mark nearby enemies and NPCs in red and chests in yellow.
Beware, though. Raising the flag makes a lot of noise so other enemies will notice you. We recommend building walls around you and a roof above your head to protect yourself.
Better yet, defeat every enemy that reaches the island before trying to claim it. Then, as you’re raising the flag, protect yourself and be extra careful of incoming players.
The Vault in Loot Island
There’re three Vaults in the game to open with Vault Keycards. These Keycards are the loot you get by killing the boss NPC on Shattered Slabs, Megacity, and Brutal Bastion.
The fourth Vault is secret, and it’s on Loot Island. It’s inside the wooden corridor on the island’s lower levels. You need two keys to open it, and you can get keys as regular loot throughout the match.
You’ll recognize the vault when you see a large steel gate. Then, you can open it by interacting with the two locks on the side.
You’ll find Epic and Mythic weapons inside the vault, Legendary Slap Juices, ammo, health, shield potions, Egg Launchers, and other useful tools.
Pro Tip: The Capture Point in the Citadel also gives you two powerful weapons: an orange Combat Shotgun, and an orange Twin Mag SMG.
Using the Overclocked Pulse Rifle
The rifle itself is bulky and pretty accurate. Its bullets look like lasers, and it makes a significant noise. However, it’s so powerful that it can kill an enemy with three or four shots.
It has a significant “bloom,” though, which means the crosshair will become very unstable if you shoot repeatedly. Additionally, it doesn’t have a sight, so you have to aim like any regular assault rifle.
That said, the weapon works best with single shots and even better if you shoot as you crouch. Try to use it from the high ground and aim for the head. Once you get it, winning a match becomes much easier.
The Mythic-level assault rifle has insane damage and rate of fire. Check the stats below and compare them to, for example, the 24 points of damage the Havoc Suppressed Rifle can do:
- Rarity: Mythic.
- Damage: 38 / 57 headshot
- Rate of fire: 7 shots per second
- Reload time: 2.7 seconds
- Magazine: 20 bullets
Lastly, the Overclocked Pulse Rifle is one of the best weapons available in Fortnite. There’s only one place to find it, though, and various players will race to get it.
