Millicent is a remarkable NPC with a memorable quest line that rewards you with many useful items. Her red hair and stern but graceful demeanor will make you warm up to her in no time.
She is initially found in the Caelid and her questline takes place in many locations across the Lands Between. She can even help you fight difficult bosses like Morgott, the Omen King, among others.
If you have met Gowry inside his rundown shack in Caelid, he is the one who asks you to find and help Millicent after you give him the Unalloyed Gold Needle. Gowry only tells you that Millicent is in the Church of the Plague, which is a bit uphill from Sellia, the town of Sorcery.
He adds that she is being worshiped and guarded by some Kindred of Rot because of a curse she bears. But, what he does not tell you is how to get to the location she is in. That part is left for us to explain.
There are two ways you can take to reach the Church of the Plague and get to Millicent. We will take you through both ways, step-by-step, so stay with us.
Get to Millicent Through Sellia, the Town of Sorcery
This is the primary way to get to the Church of Plague and meet Millicent. Once you deliver the Unalloyed Gold Needle to Gowry, he will give you a parchment containing the secrets of Sellia, the town of Sorcery. This paper tells to light the braziers in Sellia to uncover what it hides, and that is exactly what you need to do.
So, let’s start from Gowry’s Shack and get to Millicent in the Church of the Plague. Here is a map to ease this process.
- Go north from Gowry’s Shack into Sellia through the inner town gate. Keep riding straight till you reach a large staircase that leads east from the town.
- As soon as you climb the staircase while going upwards, there is a root you can leap to in the immediate right along the staircase. Jump there and access the rooftops.
- Navigate the roofs and tangled roots and make it to one of the towers. It will have a brazier you can light up, this unlocks the gate to Sellia Backstreets. That is the way to the Church of the Plague. We have a detailed video guide that explains this route along with some bonuses.
- Once you have unlocked the seal that barred you from Sellia Backstreets, take the same staircase you took to access the roofs but this time climb it all the way up, and go through the newly unsealed gate. On the immediate left from the gate is Sellia Backstreets Site of Grace.
- Take the winding path uphill from this Site of Grace. There are few enemies but what you need to watch out for is the huge magical rolling metal ball that seems hell-bent on crushing you.
- After you make it past the ball, next you will traverse through a graveyard with the Church of the Plague in your vision from this point.
- There are two Kindred of Rot enemies guarding the entrance to the Church. It is best to defeat them before you go into the Church or sneak past them without aggro-ing them.
- Once you reach the Church you will find Millicent leaning on one of the walls. She is in a weakened condition and is barely able to speak. You can deliver the Unalloyed Gold Needle to her here.
Get to Millicent Through Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow
This is an alternate way to reach the Church of the Plague. You need to first get to the Third Church of Marika and find a teleporter hidden within the bushels behind this Church which takes you to Bestial Sanctum.
From there you have to ride all the way to the Church of the Plague. In a sense, this is a secret way, but let’s walk through it anyways. We also have a video that will guide you through everything involved in this method.
For those who like to read rather than see, here’s a step-by-step tutorial. To top it off, we also have a small map that marks the location for the upcoming step 1 and 2.
- Fast travel to the Third Church of Marika and go to the river on the north of it.
- Head east along this river and in the end, among one of the bushes you will notice a faint glow. This is coming from the teleporter.
- Interact with this teleporter and you will be teleported to Greyoll’s Dragonbarrow, in front of the Bestial Sanctum. You can enter the building, and activate the Site of Grace.
- Take the path south of the Beastial Sanctum, there is a Black Blade Kindred i.e. the big bird man at the start of your way. Better avoid him while going south if you don’t want to be chased.
- The path south leads to another Site of Grace which is on the left before you cross the bridge. There is a dragon boss waiting for you on the bridge, but you can swiftly ride past and come to him later. Once you are across, head slightly west as you go towards south then the path bends all the way towards southwest.
- You will come across a Minor Erdtree guarded by a field boss called Putrid Avatar. There are some dead Jar Warriors littered along the way and lighting will start dropping around you. Keep following this path southwest.
- You will travelling along a cliff path. Once your path goes under some arched roots, you will meet another large dragon. You can simply ride past it.
- Past the first dragon, up ahead you will have to take a U-turn. We have marked the exact point you have to take the turn from in the Map Guide in the end of this article. Take the turn and start heading southeast.
- You will ride past some more dragons, up ahead is Fort Farroth. You don’t have to go there. Go south from there, along the rocky cliffs and aside from a big rock you will notice a stream of air shooting upwards. We have marked the location of this air stream on the map.
- You can use this air stream to jump below. Get on torrent, and jump on the air stream, this will enable you to safely descend on the land below. Jumping from anywhere else will result in a quick death.
- Once down, ride south, the Church of the Plague should be just along the way. Go there and rest on the Site of Grace and get on with Millicent’s Questline.
Below is a Map Guide that will direct you all the way from the Bestial Sanctum to the Church of the Plague.
