There was a time when Lina used to be your typical mid-hero who’d go magic build and one-shot enemy heroes with her combo.
But with all the recent changes, she’s become a machine gun carry that can destroy enemies with her insane attack speed and range.
Even with the nerfs she’s received in patch 7.32e, this hero is still dominating pubs with more than 50% win rates.
If this hero is traumatizing your pubs and you can’t seem to have a good time against her, then we’ve got some suggestions that might help you win against her.
Lina is certainly a good hero in this patch, but with these heroes, you’ll have a decent chance against her.
Spectre
With the cost of Radiance being reduced in the recent patch, Spectre is just too good of a hero in the game right now.
She naturally counters heroes that like to stay in the back, and with the Radiance meta coming back, Lina doesn’t stand a chance against her right now.
With Radiance and Manta, she can destroy Lina at any stage of the game.
She also has great gap-closing abilities and the bonus damage from Desolate goes even through BKB which is enough to make short work of Lina.
Legion Commander
Legion Commander is another good hero against Lina. She has good armor and sustains to withstand her right-click damage on the lane.
She also has a nuke that she can use to trade with Lina. And on top of that, she can lifesteal when fighting 1v1 against Lina.
It is also very easy to kill her in Duel, especially when she jumps with Blink Dagger and Blademail.
And since, Lina won’t have enough time to react, most of the time she just dies before she can do anything in fights.
Clinkz
Clinkz is also very strong in this patch, especially with the recent buffs he’s gotten in patch 7.32e.
Now, he doesn’t need Shard to summon Burning Army Skeleton.
So basically, he can use his ultimate even when there are no creeps in the vicinity which gives him a huge boost in HP and damage.
He can basically man-fight against Lina and win most of the time, due to his high damage and survivability.
Primal Beast
Primal Beast is especially good against ranged heroes who have no escape abilities and a low HP pool.
This hero can literally bring any ranged hero to 20% HP from full health when he initiates on them.
And it is also extremely hard to get off from him once he gets close to you.
Lina cannot fight against him due to his tanky nature and high armor. So, if you’re playing offlane or mid against her, this might be the hero you need to counter her.
Drow Ranger
Drow Ranger is just too good against heroes who have low HP and armor.
Her ultimate pierces through all the armor of heroes and deals massive damage. She also has a massive attack range and can silence Lina before she’s able to use her spells.
You might need Shadow Blade if you want to have a good chance against her as Drow is weak to magic damage and has low HP herself. So, she can easily die at the hands of Lina if she’s caught off position.
Batrider
Honestly speaking, Batrider is the ultimate counter to heroes who deal physical damage and like to play alone.
Since Lina falls under both of these categories, Batrider can punish her super hard. Lina can’t really do anything when he gets on top of her.
He can literally kill her by chasing her down and if her teammates aren’t around to save her, it’s very hard for her to survive.
Axe
Axe is also a very good hero against Lina. He isn’t a direct counter to this hero but he has lots of survivability against her and he can help his teammates to take her down later on in the game.
Although she can bully him in the laning stage, he can negate a lot of her damage when he gets his Vanguard.
Axe is also one of the best initiators in Dota and he can disrupt Lina’s teamfighting capabilities in a lot of teamfights.
Doom
Doom is another great counter to Lina. He can farm and get his items very quickly, and his ultimate will prevent Lina from casting any spells and items.
Doom also deals percentage-based damage which isn’t particularly good against heroes like Lina who already has low HP, but it can be used as a great tool to set up kills against her.
When Doomed, Lina can’t get any more stacks so she just turns into a walking creep and is very vulnerable during the entire duration of Doom.
Faceless Void
Faceless Void’s Chornosphere is the perfect spell to take down Lina. He is also one of the few heroes who can man-fight her if they are equal in terms of levels and farm.
Due to his Timewalk, it is very difficult to kill him, and he can instantly turn the fight around if she’s unable to burst him down.
He can also initiate from a fair distance, and he can always make use of fog to hide himself until the right moment.
Tiny
Tiny can easily burst Lina(if not, take a huge chunk of her HP) with his Avalanche-Toss combo.
He can also toss her toward his teammates, who then can make quick work of her.
Tiny is one of the best supports in the game and he also has lots of armor to survive against her physical damage.
Juggernaut
Juggernaut can also be played as a good counter to Lina. His spin makes him completely immune to all of her abilities until she gets her level-25 talent.
He can also heal himself and all his teammates(if his Healing Ward doesn’t get taken down). He’s also been slightly buffed in the recent patch so he’s actually quite better now.
Lina also doesn’t have any answer to Omnislash if she doesn’t have her teammates around her.
Slark
Slark is another great counter hero against Lina. He can jump in and out of the fight with ease, and he isn’t afraid of fighting any hero as long as it’s one on one.
He is also great at picking up the backlines, and he has one of the best dispels in the game.
Apart from that, he also steals the target’s attributes, each time he hits them for a certain duration, so Lina can’t really hurt him unless she’s sitting far back where he can’t reach him.
Wraith King
Wraith King is a good hero against Lina as well. He has good survivability, can farm really fast with skeletons, and is very good in teamfights.
And even if he gets killed, he can come back to life which can be really good, especially in the late game when everyone’s BKB is running low.
He also has one of the best Aghanim’s Scepter against Lina that delays the death of his teammates.
Sniper
The thing that makes Sniper good against Lina is that he can hit her or her teammates from a really long distance.
Although they both are ranged carries, Sniper has a superior attack range than Lina which means he’ll always be able to attack her first even if they both see each other at the same time.
He also has higher damage than her, and he can slow her with Shrapnel which can be very annoying to deal with.
He also doesn’t depend on his spells for extra damage/ attack speed so he can basically fight her without having to worry about anything.
Magnus
Magnus has a few strong combos that can really punish Lina if she’s not aware.
The Blink-Skewer(or Blink-Horn Toss-Skewer) combo can easily pull her or her teammates toward his teammates and they won’t be able to stop it if they don’t have quick reflexes or if their teammates don’t stun him during the pull.
And the RP is always a good way to lock her down.
