Want to know the best Bloodborne weapon that suits your gameplay style? Well, there are dozens of weapons, each with different abilities, stats, and effects against individual enemies. But if you are searching for weapons dealing the highest physical and stats damage, then I have categorized every Bloodborne weapon into a tier list.
About eighty percent of the weapons can be obtained early in the game if you want to skip some of the quest lines. However, you might lose access to other useful items if you want to go on this path.
Bloodborne Weapons Tier List
Below are the weapons that are divided into tier lists. Know that these weapons are subjected to players’ preferences and their use. C-tier weapons can also serve well if the player suits the playstyle of particular weapons, as every weapon here is different.
S-tier
Whirligig Saw
Whirligig Saw is a powerful trick weapon that transforms into a buzzsaw on a stick to deal repeated damage but it does take your stamina the more you spin the buzzsaw. It’s the weapon added in the Old Hunter DLC pack with the inclusion of two different version of gem sloth.
Besides the normal Whirligig Saw, we have the Uncanny and Lost version of Whirligig Saw. They work and look the same, except for the gem sloth. The mace does a decent amount of damage, but it’s the transformed version that uses the giant buzzsaw to hack enemies down.
You can either use the Long range Mace or attach it to the Buzz saw for slow but heavy damage.
Saw Cleaver
Saw Cleaver is a trick weapon that transforms from a saw to an extended cleaver. This weapon falls under Serrated weapon that deals twenty percent additional damage against beastly bosses, Watchdog of the Old Lords, and many other enemies that are weak to Serrated Damage.
Only when Saw Cleaver is wielded in a saw form, the serrated damage can come to an effect. Just like most weapons, Saw Cleaver also has three imprints; Normal, Uncanny, and Lost. Its special stat is Rally/regain. You can have quick small health regain when you attack immediately after taking damage.
Holy Moonlight Sword
Holy Moonlight Sword is a trick weapon of Bloodborne introduced in the Old Hunter DLC expansion pack and its other two gem imprints. It is an insane weapon when players meet Arcane and Strength rank because it can transform from a one-handed Greatsword to a two-handed Moonlight Greatsword that can deal some serious damage.
Ludwig’s Holy Blade
Used by Healing Church Hunters, this weapon can transform itself into a greatsword as well as a normal sword. Ludwig’s Holy Blade’s Scabbard itself works as a greatsword, and players can pull off a normal sword by detaching the scabbard for a swift swing.
Ludwig’s Holy Blade is really effective against enemies vulnerable to Righteous as it deals fifty percent extra damage. Normal ones can be purchased for twenty thousand echoes, whereas the Uncanny Holy Blade is obtained by crafting materials on the Cursed and Defiled Root Chalice, and Lost Holy Blade is by crafting materials for Sinister Isz Root Chalice.
A-tier
Saw Spear
A trick weapon that transforms from a saw to a spear and back again. The Saw Spear falls under the sub-group of serrated weapons dealing additional damage to heavy beast enemies and bosses as well.
Saw Spear is available for purchase when you obtain the Saw Hunter Badge. Talk to the Bath Messengers, and you can buy the Saw Spear for thousands of Blood Echoes. The Saw Spear works more like a sword utilizing attacks with slash rather than thrust attacks. The weapons have a long reach when transformed into Spear.
Rakuyo
This one’s a pretty interesting weapon because the sword more or less represents the hands of Clock with short and long versions of swords. Rakuyo can also be transformed to wield separately from twin-blade to dual-wield sword and dagger.
The twin blade mode has a variety of attacks using combos of light and heavy attacks, whereas in dual wield mode, players are able to alternate between thrust and swing continuously until the stamina runs dry.
Hunter Axe
A common Hunter Axe has a longer reach once switched to an extended axe. The trick for Hunder Axe is that it can transform from a normal axe to an extended one. You can choose to wield this weapon from the beginning. In case you missed out, then you can purchase this weapon from the Messengers after obtaining the Saw Hunter Badge.
Hunter Axe has Rally/Regain stats. That means the player will gain a small amount of health if you land a quick attack immediately after receiving damage.
Burial Blade
Burial Blade is a curved sword that can be transformed into a large scythe when wielded with two hands. Unlike the Greatsword, it is fast both with one hand as well as two hands.
If you have acquired the Old Hunter Badge from Gehrman, you can go straight to the messenger and buy Burial Blade for sixty thousand Blood Echoes.
Burial Blade is all about clearing out a swamp of enemies; that is why it sacrifices its attack damage with speed and area reach. This weapon is a good choice for creating enough personal space between you and a bunch of enemies.
Blade of Mercy
Blade of Mercy is a swift weapon that deals additional damage if the player performs maneuvers like a sprint, backstep, or quick-step and makes a heavy attack while transforming the blade. The blade is also a trick weapon that transforms into a dual blade from a single-handed sword.
Just like other Bloodborne weapons, you can purchase the blade of Mercy for forty thousand Blood Echoes after obtaining the Crow Huter Badge. Blade of Mercy also can be used to regain health with its swift attacks because the weapon comes with Rally/Regain status.
Beasthunter Saif
Beasthunter Saif is an additional Bloodborne weapon from the Old Hunters DLC expansion pack. Just Like Saw Cleaver, Beasthunter Saif can be transformed from a long weapon to a long curved sword, but unlike Saw Cleaver, this weapon has a long range to its default.
To obtain Beasthuter Saif, you need to go to Hunter’s Nightmare location, where you have to defeat Saif hunter, who will be guarding this weapon.
B-tier
Chikage
Chikage is a type of katana sword in Bloodborne that does heavy blood damage in transformed mode. Just like any other Katana weapon in the Souls-like game, Chikage also deals blood loss damage with frenzies attacks but only when wielded two-handed.
After Joining the Cainhurst Vilebloods covenant, Chikage can be purchased from Messenger for fifty thousand blood echoes.
Church Pick
An added weapon in The Old Hunter DLC expansion Pack, Church Pick works as a thrusting sword with the Righteous damage. That means the weapon deals additional damage against Beast’s enemies and other monsters who are weak against Beasthunter’s blood gems.
Church Pick has the fastest thrust sword attack that can deal additional twenty percent damage. You can also transform your sword into a Pick with a long reach.
Bloodletter
Bloodletter is a trick weapon that takes a decent amount of your health to transform from a one-handed mace to a two-handed morning star filled with blood. Bloodletter was added to bloodborne from its DLC pack.
Bloodletter can be obtained in the Underground prison after killing Brador. But you need to get the underground cell inner chamber key to reach the Brador cell.
Amygdalan Arm
Amygdalan Arm is a strength build weapon that hits slow but heavy. A trick weapon that works like a club and can be transformed from a club to a scythe-like weapon with stylish moves.
The weapon has a longer reach when used as a scythe, where its blade is swung as a flail with different attack combos. You can find the Amygdalan Arm at the end of the blood river cave near Hunter’s Nightmare.
Boom Hammer
Boom Hammer is a slow-swinging weapon that does physically as well as fire damage. The weapon has a small furnace attached to its back, and upon ignition, it can deal additional fire damage too. And not to forget its explosive factor dealing additional physical damage.
Boom Hammer has three versions of the same weapon called imprints. These imprints are similar except for their gem slots that vary from uncanny to lost and normal ones. However, all three can be purchased from Messenger after completing a certain quest.
C-tier
Logarius’ Wheel
Logarius’ Wheel is the giant Wheel with the main purpose of Strength and Arcane build. When transformed, Logarius Wheel changes its strength to decrease the compensation of increased Arcane Damage. You can have two hundred percent of additional arcane damage with increased base arcane damage of twenty.
You can purchase Logarius’ Wheel for thirteen thousand Blood Echoes from the Messengers after obtaining the Wheel Hunter Badge.
Kirkhammer
One of the weapons generally used by healing church hunters, making it a Righteous weapon dealing fifty percent increased damage against enemies vulnerable to righteous weapons.
Kirkhammer has two forms, one sword and the other one is a chunky hammer. By inserting the sword into the handle of the hammer, the weapon transforms into a giant hammer which is a two-handed weapon. Kirkhammer also has Rally/Regain stats for players to quickly heal by swift attack after taking damage.
Simon’s Bowblade
Simon’s Bowblade is the only weapon that has a transformation from a one-handed blade to a bow. This was the weapon chosen by Simon, one of the first Healing Church hunters who didn’t like the idea of firearms, so the merchant handed him the sword that does range damage when transformed into a bow.
You can charge your bow attack to stagger your enemies and go for the visceral kill. In comparison, the blade damage scales on physical damage, and the bow’s damage is scaled by the level of blood tinge damage of the weapon.
Stake Driver
Stake Driver is designed to use as boxing gloves, but the weapons also consist of a short spear sticking out the front. It is difficult to use weapons as the weapon is used at close combat range.
Stake Driver also has a transformation, but it’s not noticeable with the weapon. Instead, you get a number of move sets and increased damage. With the longest charge, Stake Driver can deal extreme amounts of foes and monsters. The weapon has Rally/Regain stats scaling.
Threaded Cane
The threaded Cane has two modes. The first one is ordinary that does thirty percent additional damage to enemies who are weak to righteous damage. When transformed to whip, it does twenty percent more damage to enemies weak against serrated weapons.
Threaded Cane does slash attacks as well as thrust attacks, depending on the attacks you are performing. You can obtain this weapon at the beginning of the game as a gift from Messenger.
Tonitrus
Tonitrus is a mace-like one-handed weapon. The only weapon in Bloodborne that has built-in bolt damage without the use of Bolt paper. The weapon does not have its physical transformation. Instead, it buffs itself with bolt damage for a short period of time. Tonitrus also has Rally/Regain stats ability.
To purchase this weapon from Messenger, you will need the Spark Hunter Badge that you will get after defeating Darkbeast Paarl.
D- tier
Reiterpallasch
Reiterpallash is an interesting weapon that is kind of difficult to use. It has a fast-light attack and a good heavy sweeping that is effective when swamped by multiple enemies. This weapon is a combination of a rapier and bayonet gun, so players can slash as well as shoot with this weapon.
Beast Cutter
Beast cutter is a one-handed weapon that can transform from a cleverly styled sword to a long-range whip. Although Beast Cutter is a strength, it has D scaling on strength and E on arcane and skill. The weapon is distinguished as a Serrated weapon that deals additional damage to beast enemies.
Beast Claw
Beast Claw is an extended weapon wielded in the main hand. It is an oversized claw that transforms your other arm into a werewolf form when a transformed mode is applied. You can perform increased damage attack variation if you have the Beast’s Embrace rune equipped.
Rifle Spear
Rifle Spear is yet another trick weapon that combines Spear on a rifle, thus giving its name Rifle Spear. Just like Reiterpallasch, this weapon has a bayonet attached to its Spear, imitating the Cainhurst weapon. Its transformed mode fires the silver bullets.
Rifle Spear can be purchased for four thousand blood echoes from the Messenger after obtaining the Powder Keg Hunter Badge.
