A Smoke grenade is the best option if you want to move around like a ninja and plant bombs on Dust 2. Not only does it blocks enemies’ views, but it also gives you ample time to confuse your enemies and ambush them.
Whether playing from the side A or side B, I will provide you with all the techniques to throw smoke grenades to perfectly block your opponent’s sight.
Smoke grenades have always been efficient for winning rounds and are mostly used defensively. Throwing smoke with finesse needs practice, so take your time to perform the perfect throw, and you will win rounds in no time.
Dust 2 Callouts
To begin throwing smoke grenades, first, we need to understand the geographical location of the arena we are playing. Smoke bombing a spot is one thing, and winning the match is another. You must strategically plan out smoke execution and move forward with the team.
So learning the area location for effective communication is crucial, or the smoke bomb will go to waste no matter how perfect the throw is.
Best Smoke Spots Dust 2
In this list, I am going to show you the exact spot, angle, and direction to throw your smoke grenade for the best results. Let’s get started.
Long A Corner
If you are playing terrorist, then you are spawned near Outside Long. You can use this to your advantage to block Long A corner and possibly, A side visuals too. By Smoking Long A corner, you can get to the pit area where you can almost safely peek Side A Ramp and the Default area.
There are several ways to smoke Long A corner. Here are four ways to do so.
Option 1
Stand behind the yellow car in Outside Long and throw smoke to the second highest leaves on the tree above the wall. This will land just beside the corner of Long A and will block the sign of the door, making it easy to run in and out of the long door.
Option 2
There are two wooden boxes of different heights on the right side of Outside Long. Stand just between them and throw smoke a little right to the edge and above the Long Door Decorative structure.
Option 3
You can perform smoke throws from T Spawn to Long A corner. It takes practice but mastering the throw can significantly help teams to safely pass through Long Doors.
Stand near the second steps of the slanted area on the right of T spawn, aim at the left side of the pipe opposite the darker spot of the wall, and jump throw smoke. Throwing smoke while jumping will land on the spot of Long A corner.
It’s a tricky throw and takes time to land correctly but can be very beneficial for your team to pass through long gates.
Option 4
Stand on the right corner of the wooden box and aim at the upper right anterior edge of the wooden box that says “Do Not Stack.” You can simply jump throw from there, and the smoke bomb will deflect, touching the decorative rim edge of the Long doors to land back at Long A corner.
Xbox
Xbox area is the major place between Side B and A, so smoking Xbox can really benefit terrorists to infiltrate A side by safely crossing the cat area. Without Xbox smoke, the opponent can snipe players from the lower tunnel. A simple way for a terrorist to smoke Xbox is from the Top Mid. However, there are many ways to smoke Xbox.
Option 1
You can throw smoke from T Spawn into the Xbox. Go into the corner of T Spawn that is opposite to the suicide. Aim above the vertical shadow edge line that meets the imaginary horizontal line with the roof of a small opening. Now just jump throw your smoke grenade, and it will land on Xbox.
Option 2
Stand in the corner of Outside Long behind the yellow car and aim at the left side of the right window. Jump, throw your grenade, and it will land right on the top of the Xbox.
CT Ramp Cross.
Smoking the CT Ramp Cross is the common way to visually blind CT spawners, and it has a lot of potential to ambush Counter terrorists too. You can smoke CT to block Long A corner, or you can block the view from Cat.
Option 1
If you are at the Long A corner near the blue garbage can, You can see a decorative window right beside the door. Stand in the middle of it and crouch while aiming above the building’s corner point. After aiming the position, uncrouch and throw smoke that will land in the opening of the CT cross-section.
Option 2
Stand at the corner of the blue barrel opposite to blue trash can. Then aim at the street light at the corner of Long A. Aim a bit higher from the street light and run a shorter distance to throw a smoke grenade. The smoke grenade should now deflect towards the cross, blocking the view of the Cross.
Option 3
If you are in the Cat area, you can smoke CT by standing in the corner of the shutter, where you can see the A platform side of the building. Aim at the corner and throw a grenade that will land at the cross-section of CT.
Short A
A short is really effective in taking down an enemy hiding behind the car in Long A. You can hide behind the smoke in Short A and snipe your enemies as long as the smoke remains. To smoke short A, you need to be in the Cat area.
While in the Cat area, stand right in the middle of the Iron gate. Aim towards the small window that is above the stairs. Aim a bit from the middle of the window and throw the grenade to smoke the Short A area. Now you can safely peak from the corner of Short A and take down enemies.
CT Mid
Smoking the CT Midsection allows you to pass back and forth from Mid Doors to CT spawn. Stand on the side edge of the opening of the Lower B tunnel and aim at the top of the destroyed pillar. Throw a smoke grenade just between the wire and pyramid shape pillar, and it will deflect to land on CT Mid side.
By smoking CT Mid, the Door player and the window player of the B side won’t be able to see you.
Between CT Mid and CT spawn
Mid is also very effective in smoking in the City Spawn area. By blocking the visuals of CT Spawn, you can safely traverse from Mid Doors to B side from CT Mid.
Option 1
Stand in the corner of Xbox and Mid and look at the white pillar of the Mid door. Aim your crosshair at the horizontal pillar and throw the grenade. The grenade will bounce from the pillar to the CT spawn area.
Option 2
You can also throw smoke from Cat Walk too. Stand in the middle of the Iron gate and aim at the wall behind the gate. Place your crosshair a little side while barely touching the edge of the wall above the gate, and just throw.
B side area
You can smoke the B side area from the Upper B tunnels. There are a lot of ways to smoke the B platform. The opening of Upper B tunnels leading to the B side area is the most dangerous for CT players so getting a good smoke to block the opponent’s view is crucial for winning.
There are several ways to block the view of the B side.
Option 1
If you don’t want to get shot from the B platform area while coming out of the Upper B tunnel, then you can safely throw a grenade from the Upper B tunnel.
Stand in front of the pillar and aim a small square between the wooden plank and the arch pillar. Throw smoke, and it will land in front of the B side area, blocking the view of the tunnel for the B platform.
Now you can safely run out of the tunnel opening and play towards the B side window, doors, or cars.
Option 2
This one is pretty common and easy to throw smoke to block the tunnel end view. Just stand at the corner near the pillar in the Upper B tunnel. Aim at the end of the tunnel opening and throw a smoke grenade. This will smoke the opening, and you can play from the close left or close right.
Mid Door
Terrorists can take down CT players from T spawn all the way up to City Mid from the small opening of Mid doors. If you are at the CT spawn and want to go to the B side, then you have to use smoke to avoid getting killed by smoking City Mid.
Simply run towards the wooden box and throw a grenade to bounce off on the City Mid side that will block both the mid doors opening along with B side window and doors.
Mid
CT players who want to rush towards the lower tunnel but don’t want to get killed by T spawn players; then this smoke trick will help you land smoke on Mid to block visuals for the T spawn players.
Option 1
Stick to the wall edge between CT spawn and Mid Doors, aim towards the horizontal wood, and throw grenades while going back. The smoke will land in the Mid for you to safely enter the lower tunnel.
Option 2
Stand in the box inside the CT spawn area that says fourteen in the upper left corner of the box and aim towards the upper left corner of the building shown in the image above. Throwing a smoke bomb in the direction will bounce and land in the Mid area near Xbox.
A Platform Default
When you are playing from the A platform, you can go to the default corner of the A-bomb side and use smoke to block the side of the Long A area. Smoking the corner of the A platform will block the visuals of the opponent peeking from the Pit area, and you can focus on the Short A area.
Short A
If you are a CT player, then you can block the enemy view of the Short A area. Go in the box corner near A ramp and throw smoke on the top right corner of the Short A tower. This will land on A short area blocking the view of Terrorist players coming from the stairs.
